DAY 10: MANUSCRIPTS... ARCHIVES
Hmm.. so Ashley has nothing to say! It's true we spent most of the day slogging through files, but we did at least have a glorious sunny day to spend locked in the caverns of the Reading Room. Ah well... Then she took me out to supper at Claire's Corner Copia, our second hippie-veg haven of the New Haven scene... I'll be back there, I'm sure.I haven't (yet) got up my "Art & Architecture" post, so here's a look-see for those non-photo-bucket enthusiasts... photos date to Wednesday, when we wandered around like tourists gaping at the incredible architecture. (I get it, Cyd! Finally!!) Impressive, and (as Hadi says) somewhat Harry Potter-esque, or Hogwartsian at the least. Here are samples (please don't ask me to identify the buildings)...

This last one took me several minutes to figure out that last word... duh! I'm also going to post a few back on Wednesday's post.

I thought that last word was Dale, but then realized that didn't make much sense. Further examination lead me to Male, Pale and Sale. Ended up a Zale. Then took a step backwards. Yale. Yale? Yale.
So don't feel bad...
Great job on the photos and naratives. Sounds like your having a wonderful time exploring!
Hi Sally,
Nice pictures, any chance you can get some of the 3 churches across the street. And how about some indoor pic's, it may be old hat to you readers want to know.
Amazing to think these building were built while out here there were tepees wagon trails.
More photos please.

Just caught up on your adventure. Glad you missed the mess of the rain- Sounds like you all are having lots of fun and doing "cultural" learning. Ashley - have a safe trip back home - say hi to the rest of the family from us and Sally - hope that if you pass through our neck of the woods you'll give a shout!
