DAY 12: CAMPUS TOUR

This morning we explored campus some more, a bit frustrating as most of the buildings were closed, and took more pictures. Hadi has been lobbying for photos of the three big churches (see Ashley's photobucket for a full set) across the street, and also for inside shots, so we'll have those up soon. After a visit to the Yale bookstore, and a lunch at the Educated Burgher (yes, really!) we are home for a break, then will probably head out somewhere again.

Ashley and I picked out our rooms at Hogwarts, aka Yale-- I chose this cute little garret, great place for writing projects.

Ashley chose the right-hand tower in this building for her imaginary home...

Speaking of writing projects, here's a look at the Sterling Memorial Library, where the archives reside and where Ashley and I are spending much of our time! As she said, it's like a museum, and we wander down a long corridor to get to our work area. The exhibit lining the corridor is on writing and capturing information, they call it the "evolution of media"-- from the days of cuneiform clay tablets to CDs...

Here are two photos from the corridor and the exhibit.
All for now-- we've got to go back out there and hunt up some dinner... already!

Yeah, they don't make 'em like they used to...buildings that is. So Hadi is ready to start a turret before the kitchen is done?

Did I tell you our new Choral Society president graduated from Yale and was a member of the Whippenpoofs....? Means a lot I'm sure.

After today's exertions,(scrubbing, scrapping, and polyurethening only 1/3 of the stone floor, I don't think my arms work anymore....can't hold the phone to call!

Ashley, I'll take the tower on the left.... ;-)

Hugs, Deb
